10 Canned cocktails to try this summer

Happy Memorial Day weekend cocktail lovers! To kick off the summer right, I wanted to share with you ten canned cocktails worth checking out as we switch to the long days of summer. Some of these are ready-to-drink cocktails I've already tried and love - like DRNXMYTH. Some are ones I've had my eye on and plan to order asap like the Ohza mimosas. And others are canned cocktails I've just discovered and can't wait to try like Spirited Hive.

So in the spirit of warm nights spent with good friends this summer, here is my list of ready-to-drink cocktails I'll be enjoying this summer. In no particular order: 

1. DRNXMYTH - Okay, technically these are in bottles - patent pending double chamber bottles that let you instantly mix your cocktail right when you are ready to drink. I've tried almost every cocktail from this line and they are ALL super awesome, way better than you'd think is possible from a ready-to-drink cocktail, and the unique flavor combinations are perfection. If you haven't tried DRNXMYTH yet, make it your summer mission to do so. They are that good!

2. Spirited Hive - I haven't had a chance to try this brand yet but it is on the top of my list simply because they use real honey to sweeten their cocktails. If you've been following me, you know I've narrowed it down to agave nectar or real cane sugar as my preferred cocktail sweeteners so I want to see how real honey measures up.

3. Ohza - This is another cocktail that is on my short list. I have been on the hunt for the perfect pre-made champagne cocktails and I think Ohza might be it. All the signs, and the 5K+ five-star reviews, make me think this might be the cocktail of the summer - especially the Ohza Bellini. I can't wait to try these!

4. Flying Embers - I love kombucha and hard kombucha just makes it even better. I tried a Flying Embers hard kombucha a few years ago and now they have so many more flavors including a bubbly version which I have my eye on. If you are a kombucha lover like me, add Flying Embers to your summer list.

5. JuneShine - I got the chance to review the new canned cocktail line from JuneShine a few weeks ago. (You can catch my full review here.) I really liked the quality of the liquor in these ready-to-drink cocktails and the Rum Mai Tai blew me away. It is the perfect poolside, tropical drink of the summer.

6. Ole Smoky - If you ever run into me IRL and ask me for a canned cocktail recommendation, the Ole Smoky moonshine canned cocktails are going to be at the top of my list. It has been over a year since I tried them and I still can't get them out of my head - especially the Apple Pie Ginger. I think I'm going to order some more right now just in case these sell out!

7. Bartesian - I have three words for you. Cocktail. Making. Machine. That is the ultimate party trick right? Think Keurig but for cocktails. You just pop in a cocktail pod, press the button, and it mixes the perfect cocktail every time. And the best part is, you get to pick the booze. So if Tito's is your jam, that is the vodka your cocktail will be made with. This is next level boogie and I'm here for it.

8. Crispy Pig - No cocktail list would be complete without a good Bloody Mary option and Crispy Pig is my all-time favorite, ready-made or not. This canned bloody mary uses whiskey instead of vodka and the tomato juice flavor is so fresh it's unreal. This is the only Bloody Mary you'll need. It is that good!!

9. ALCO - This is another line that is brand new to me but I can't wait to try. The Orange Crush and Vodka Lemonade both sound like great summer cocktails and since they are made with real liquor, my number one criteria, I'm going to give them a try.

10. Two Chicks - Two Chicks is an old favorite of mine. I tried several of their canned cocktails right before the pandemic lockdowns in March of 2020 and I'm still thinking about them. Specifically the Vodka Elderflower & Pear. It is light and perfect for a hot summer day. All of their sparkling cocktails are worth checking out this summer.

And because you'll need a way to carry your canned cocktails with you, I just have to share this awesome backpack cooler from YETI. I live near Lake Tahoe which has lots of great beach options but mostly they require a bit of a hike to get to, often without a trail, so this cooler is going to save my summer. You won't catch me trying to lug my regular cooler through the woods to get down to the water this year!!
