Canned cocktail review: Dry Fly Huckleberry Lemonade & Bloody Mary

Posted by Jaime Fowler on

Dry Fly Distilling canned cocktail review of their Huckleberry Lemonade and Bloody Mary cocktails

Happy Friday cocktail lovers! I'm back this week with two more ready-to-drink canned cocktails from Dry Fly. They are both vodka cocktails, a Bloody Mary and their Huckleberry Lemonade. If you missed my post last week, I tried two different vodka cocktails from the Dry Fly line and was so impressed! (You can catch up here.) So naturally the bar is set pretty high for this week's cocktails.

I posted a teaser of these on my Instagram yesterday and got so many messages about the Huckleberry Lemonade. I've been really excited to try it too, although - and I'm outing myself here - I can't even think the word "huckleberry" without hearing it in Val Kilmer's voice from Tomstone. "I'm your huckleberry" If you don't know that reference you probably didn't grow up in the country with a friend obsessed with western movies. LOL

Huckleberry history aside, let's do this! I decided to dress up the cocktails this week with Swizzly Sticks. Both of these are from the Bloody Mary Collection in my shop and I think they add just the right about of flair.

Now to the taste test . . .

Dry Fly Huckleberry Lemonade:  Dry Fly ready-to-drink Huckleberry Lemonade canned cocktails styled with a Swizzly Stick

Overall score: 5 / 5

5 out of 5 cocktail shakers
Sweetness:
One shaker = not sweet at all // Five shakers = your teeth may curl
2 out of 5 cocktail shakers
Booziness: 4.9% ABV
One shaker = does this have booze? Five shakers = OG Four Lokos
2 out of 5 cocktail shakers

Interesting!! I was immediately hit with the thought that this is a really yummy berry lemonade. My next thought was "what berry is that" because it is very clearly one berry rather than a mix berry flavor but it isn't a berry I could identify right away. And then came Val Kilmer's voice again. 😂  It is HUCKLEBERRY, duh.

This boozy lemonade is really really tasty. It is light but still full of nice berry flavor. You don't get any hint of booze. And it is only slightly sweet from the berry. It does not have any hint of fake flavoring or sweetness. It's a 10/10 for me.

Hello spice! Hello warm boozy goodness. How is this Bloody Mary only 8%? Right from the first sip I could feel the warmth from the vodka in the best possible way.

I have tried several ready-to-drink Bloody Mary options at this point after doing reviews for 4+ years. Surprisingly most of them have been really good. This one from Dry Fly is one of the best! It is a very traditional, spicy, flavorful Bloody Mary. And I love it so much. I highly recommend checking out the Dry Fly Bloody Mary if you like Bloody Marys even a little bit.

Would I buy these again?

Yup, that is happening! I really really liked both of these cocktails. The Bloody Mary was so spicy and instantly warmed me from the inside out. It will be a go-to for me in any chilly outdoor day drinking situation for sure. And that Huckleberry Lemonade was so unique and light, yet boozy.

I have already had my friends hitting me up about Dry Fly and once they read this review I know they are going to be even more interested in finding them. If you want to get your hands on some Dry Fly canned cocktails too, you can order them online here:

I'll be back next week with the final installment of me trying the full line of Dry Fly Distilling's canned cocktails - and it's gin week! Come back next Friday to see what I think of their Gin & Tonic and their Greyhound.

Until next week cocktail lovers. Cheers!
