Happy Friday! I'm back with the last two canned cocktails from Dry Fly Distilling this week and it is time for the gin. Both of these ready-to-drink cocktails are made with Dry Fly's own gin and if they are anything like their vodka cocktails I'm in for a treat! I'll be trying their Greyhound and their Gin & Tonic. Full transparency, I'm a little nervous about trying the Gin & Tonic because I have yet to try any cocktails with tonic in it that I actually like. Tonic is just not my jam. But in the name of science 😜 , I'm going to try it for y'all.
This week I styled my cocktails with colorful "Cheers" Swizzly Sticks and bendy paper straws from my shop. The can designs from Dry Fly are already so pretty but I love the extra pop of color and the ability to add a garnish to canned cocktails by using a Swizzly Stick.
Now onto the drinking!

Greyhounds are one of those cocktails I'm always interested in. When I lived in Portland there was a bar that served fresh squeezed Greyhounds that were practically live changing. Their's was the first Greyhound I'd every had and it has set the bar pretty high for Greyhounds. I've had a few ready-to-drink versions that were okay but nothing like those. I have been excited to try the one from Dry Fly since I first opened the box because I'm always optimistic that I'm going to find a new one that rivals the original one in my mind.
Traditionally a Greyhound is made with vodka so I think it is an interesting and bold choice to use gin - and it was the right choice! Dry Fly's gin Greyhound is unique. You do taste the gin - not in an overpowering way, just in a way that makes you realize all over again that it is a gin and not vodka that you are drinking. It has a good tart bite from the grapefruit but again not in an overpowering way.
This is a super drinkable, light, tart, gin forward canned cocktail. If you like just a touch for grapefruit flavor in your gin cocktails, I highly suggest give the Dry Fly Greyhound a try. It is not like the one I love in Portland but I do like this gin version. Would you try this one?

Oh boy, I was not looking forward to this one because of the tonic. I just really dislike the dry, bitterness of tonic. So color me surprised when I took my first sip of the Dry Fly Gin and Tonic!!
It is lightly lemon-y without even an ounce of the dry bitterness I was expecting. I could taste the gin in a really great way. And the whole thing was just super tasty in a light, citrusy, gin kind of way. I'm really not exactly sure how to describe it except that I am extremely surprised by how much I liked it.

Would I buy these again?
Yes, I'm officially a fan of the Dry Fly canned cocktails. I love the variety of this line and I was super surprised by the gin cocktails in particular. There are not a lot of ready-to-drink gin cocktails on the market right now so it is nice to have option.
Overall both of the hard lemonades, the Huckleberry Lemonade and the Spicy Lemonade were my favorites. Followed closely by the the Bloody Mary and - I can't believe I'm saying this - the Gin & Tonic.
