Ready to drink cocktail review: Brody's

Posted by Jaime Fowler on

Brody's ready-to-drink cocktails reviewed by The Pursuit of Cocktails

Happy Friday cocktail lovers! I am super excited about the the brand I'm sharing with you next. I've had a chance to work with the founder to create custom Swizzly Sticks for her brand and I really really like her. The brand is Brody's and it's named after her sweet dog. That alone is enough for me to love this brand. Plus there is a cute picture of Brody on each of the bottles!

Dog lover aside, I am really excited to try this line because the branding and the packaging scream high end cocktail experience. I'm starting this week with their Air Mail which is a ready to drink rum cocktail. Then I'll be back for two more weeks with their vodka cocktails and then the gin cocktails.

One thing that I really love right off the bat is that you can drink these straight OR you can add bubbly! So it is a cocktail and a cocktail mixer all in one. I haven't seen anything like that before and it's such a fun idea. Plus each bottle contains 5+ cocktail -  more if you add bubbly. As the ultimate lazy bartender - i.e. the entire reason I started this blog and love ready-to-drink cocktails so much - I love the options that come with the Brody's cocktails. More ways to serve equals less time mixing drinks for me.  So let's start sipping and see if this is party worthy cocktail.

Custom Swizzly Sticks from The Pursuit of Cocktails

Here is my official review of Brody's Air Mail:

5 out of 5 cocktail shakers
Ummm, yes please! This is delightful!!
Rum is not necessarily my first pick of liquor (I blame a specific night on Spring Break in Panama City 🥴 ) but you know I'm down to try any cocktail obviously. I chose to start with the Air Mail cocktail even though it's rum simply because there where two vodka cocktails and two gin cocktails and this one was odd man out. But dang!!! What a way to start.
This Air Mail cocktail from Brody's is making me rethink rum. The main flavor is a really smooth rum and instead of that triggering me, I loved it. I'm shocked! This cocktail is citrusy, bright and fresh with just the right about of sweetness. I'm in awe!
I didn't have a chance to grab any champagne this week to try it mixed but I will definitely be doing that over the weekend and I'll report back. I'm sure it's wonderful that way too!
10/10 - love this one!

Sweetness

3 out of 5 cocktail shakers
One shaker = not sweet at all  // Five shakers = your teeth may curl

The Brody's Air Mail is right in the middle of the sweetness scale. It is sweet enough to balance everything but not so sweet that it's more of a dessert.

My favorite thing about this sweetness of this cocktail is that it comes from honey! Honey is my favorite sweetener but it can be hard to pull off in drinks but Brody's nailed it.

Booziness

4 out of 5 cocktail shakers
One shaker = does this have booze? Five shakers = OG Four Lokos

This ready-to-drink rum cocktail on it's own officially ring in at 20% ABV. If you added bubbly that would change that obviously but either way, you have a pretty boozy, yummy cocktail on your hands.

Would I buy this ready to drink cocktail again?

Absolutely! Not only is this cocktail amazing, the branding and packaging is so luxe. It has wonderful Art Deco, mid century cocktail vibes and it would be perfect in a cocktail gift basket or as a host gift.

You can order this and all the Brody's cocktail online on their website here: https://shop.drinkbrodys.com/

Or you can use this map to find them in our area: https://www.drinkbrodys.com/findnearyou

And I'll be back next week with two more Brody's cocktails. Until next week cocktail lovers, Cheers!
